Love God, Love Each Other, Serve the World

Children
Georgetown Children's Ministry Goal: As we strive to assist families in laying down a spiritual foundation for children, our goals for Children's Ministry are for each child to come to know our living God, to develop as a faithful follower of Christ, and to enjoy being part of a loving community.

Child Care Center

Childcare is available during each of our worship services. A Greeter will assign your child a pager.

Little People's Worship

Children who are two years of age through Pre-Kindergarten are welcome in Little People's Worship. This program runs from September through May during both morning worship services. In addition to the leader, there are two helpers from GEMS assigned each week. We are using Hands-On Bible Curriculum by Group Publishing. Each lesson has a very simple truth that provides the focus for teaching. Crafts and activities are planned around the lesson.

We use a Hands-On Bible Curriculum for Little People's Worship.

Kingdom Kids

All children Kindergarten - 5th grade meet on Sunday mornings from September through March from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. The children gather in the Courtyard for a time of praise to God through singing before they separate into small groups for Biblical instruction. A P.A.R.T.I.  (Praise, Adoration, Reflection, Thanksgiving, Interaction is held every six weeks. During this special meeting, the children stay together in the Courtyard for the entire hour during which time a special speaker or program is presented.

We use Walk With Me curriculum published by Faith Alive Resources at Kingdom Kids.

Summer Worship Programs

During the summer months, two programs are offered during the morning worship service.

The Toddler Nursery offers Toddler Tale, a program for children who are 2 or 3 years old. A storyteller shares a simple Bible truth, an activity, and a snack.

SonShine Worship is a special worship time for boys and girls ages 4 - starting 3rd grade in the fall. The children walk-out of the sanctuary mid-way through worship to sing new songs, hear a Bible story, meet a puppet friend, and do other activities. During the 6 years in which children can participate in SonShine worship, we take a journey through the Old Testament with the help of FaithWeaver Curriculum from Group Publication.

MID-WEEK OPPORTUNITIES

Cadets

Boys in 3rd-5th grades meet every Wednesday evening as part of our Discipleship Night from September through March from 6:45 to 8:30 PM. The evening is spent in Bible Study, badge work, and prayer. Special activities are planned during the year.

GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior)

Girls in 2nd-5th grades meet every Wednesday evening as part of our Discipleship Night from Septebmer through March from 6:45 to 8:30 PM. The evening is spent in Bible Study, craft/badge work, and prayer. Special activities are planned during the year.

In the midst of a broken world with mixed media messages about what it means to be a woman, and confusion about how to find a place in the world, Georgetown becomes a place for girls to learn about and experience the love of Christ. They learn that their identity is in Christ and begin to see their worth and value through His eyes. Georgetown also provides a variety of different experiences so girls begin to develop confidence and an understanding of God's unique design in their lives.

Service Opportunities are an important part of all our children's ministries. Service can include helping the leader to pick up toys for the very young and being a helper with the young children as they reach upper elementary. The older children, in Kingdom Kids, GEMS, and Cadets, bring offerings and participate with hands on opportunities to help those in less fortunate circumstances. The children and our community have both benefitted from these.
