Our Ministries and Partners

Weekly Ministries

Micah's House Ministriesmicahs-house

Micah's House is located immediately on our 40th Avenue driveway. It was once the church's parsonage, but now houses both our Food Pantry and our Clothesline and Shoe Ministries.

Food Pantry

Georgetown partners with area agencies to provide a food resource for families who are food insecure. Our food pantry assists on average 10-12 families per week with their grocery needs. Food drives at our church and in our neighborhood help supply groceries for our pantry.

Clothesline & Shoe Ministries

Similar to our food pantry, our Clothesline and Shoe Ministries assist families with general and specific clothing needs (e.g. items needed for a job interview) or seasonal needs (e.g. a winter coat). Donations of new or like new, consignment quality clothes and shoes can be brought to Micah's House on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12-2.

Food Pantry and Clothesline are made possible through the serving spirit of more than 25 volunteers who donate more than 50 total hours each month.

MI Works!Michigan Works!

Since September of 2009, we have hosted and operated a Michigan Works SHARE Network Access Point every Thursday evening, providing job search services to the Hudsonville, Jenison, and Georgetown Township area. Through this partnership program with Ottawa County Michigan Works, our trained volunteers have assisted persons with their job search, resume development, and career exploration.

If you are in need of job search assistance, our access point, located in the lower level of the new annex, is open on Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:30 PM.

Monthly Ministries

Feeding America Mobile Distributionfeeding-america

Each month, we work with Feeding America West Michigan to bring a mobile food pantry to our community.

These food distributions are scheduled for the third Tuesday of every month with registration beginning at 6:30 PM. There are no minimum requirements that need to be met to receive the food, it is simply free to all registered participants.

Other Ministries

Georgetown Friendship Group

The Georgetown Friendship Ministry began in 1993 to provide a youth group for teens in our community who had special needs. The group currently has 32 members and 9 families that serve as sponsors.

The goal of the group is to show God's love to the members, to reach out to the members and their families, and to provide a fun outing once a month for the members in order to grow relationships and give caregivers respite from their responsibilities. Some of the activities that the Friendship Group participates in includes a Calvin College basketball game, a White Caps baseball game, bowling, a Valentine's dinner, a game night and movie night, hayrides, and in December a Christmas dinner and talent show in which members share their talents.

To become involved in the Friendship Group as a member or sponsor please contact (616) 669-5180 or [email protected].
