Warming West Michigan

As you may have seen on the local news, those experiencing homelessness in Grand Rapids are particularly struggling this season due to COVID restrictions and cold weather. In Matthew 25, Christ reminds us that one way to express our love for him is to provide clothes for those in need and to reach out in love to strangers. Georgetown felt called to respond to this very tangible need in our community.

The Mission

We challenged the congregation to FILL a trailer with items to deliver to Mel Trotter, Guiding Light Ministries, and Degage. The trailer was parked in Georgetown's parking lot from January 6 to January 31, 2021. Staff and Outreach Team packed the trailer with donations received and we filled it about 75 % of the way! Thank you Georgetown community for your generous donations!
