Connecting Communities with Compassion

Building Beds. Building Hope.

Every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to sleep. Sadly, for many families in our area, that isn’t always possible. A bed is more than just furniture—it’s security, dignity, and rest. For foster families, a bed is often the final requirement before a child can be placed in their home.

From Lumber to Love

That’s where our Bed Building Ministry steps in.

  • What We Do
    • In our campus woodshop, volunteers cut, sand, assemble, and stain sturdy wooden beds.
    • Beds can be used individually or stacked as bunk beds.
    • Every child who receives a bed also receives a brand-new mattress and bedding —sheets, blankets, and pillows—so nothing is missing.
    • All beds are given completely free of charge to families in need and to foster families preparing to welcome a child.

Why it matters

  • A bed offers more than rest—it offers dignity, stability, and a sense of belonging.
  • Foster families can say “yes” to placements more quickly when the bed barrier is removed.
  • Children sleep better, feel cared for, and know they matter.
  • Having one's own bed provides emotional regulation and a personal sanctuary to unwind and recharge.
